Perhaps the most compelling of all the characters in the extended Star Wars universe, Mara Jade, who first appeared in Timothy Zahn's Heir To The Empire. I've been trying to do something substantial with this character for over 10 years now (lots of now-embarrassing near-hits), but I think I've finally got her pegged.

Lightsaber turned out better than I expected. I'm still a little wonky on the hair details and having a difficult time deciding whether or not to add gloves.

Looking forward to getting her into an actual scene now.

I think its great. The LS seems a bit thin and short. The length might be due to perspective of the render, but I think it would be better if it had the thickness of the handle.

Thank you! I know - the perspective on that saber blade drives me nuts, too...but I really do think it's just the angle. It's the exact same mesh I used for the sabers in [link], and those look right to me.

LOL - I'll fiddle with it (trust me...no one questions me after the fact more than I do), but when I look at reference material like this, I'm thinking the problem may be that they're a bit short and need to taper more.

I figure I have about 200 "so-and so with lightsaber" pics left in me, so I'll have plenty of opportunities to get it right. Thanks for prodding me into looking at the ref material again!
